The Category Management Project Intern will support TikTok Shop’s US marketplace through category analysis, growth initiatives, campaign planning, seller performance reporting, cross-functional project coordination, and market research.
Responsibilities
Support category management and growth initiatives across TikTok Shop’s US marketplace and analyze category, seller, product, and campaign performance to identify growth opportunities and key business trends
Assist with category strategy, planning, and execution for major shopping events and seasonal campaigns, including BFCM and other key promotional moments
Develop and maintain seller and category performance reports, dashboards, and business updates and support seller recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and growth initiatives for priority and high-potential sellers
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Seller Operations, Marketing, Campaign, Product, Business Development, and Creator teams to execute category projects
Conduct market and competitor research to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and opportunities for category expansion
Help manage project timelines, track deliverables, and follow up with stakeholders to ensure projects are executed on time and prepare presentations, business reviews, and data-driven recommendations for internal stakeholders
Take ownership of ad-hoc projects and operational tasks that support overall category growth
Qualification
Required
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Strong project management and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and highly collaborative environment
- Strong interest in e-commerce, social commerce, creator economy, and digital platforms
- Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to take ownership of projects from start to finish
Preferred
- Previous internship or project experience in e-commerce, marketplace operations, category management, consulting, marketing, or business operations
- Experience analyzing large datasets and creating business insights
- Experience working with sellers, merchants, brands, creators, or external partners
- Familiarity with TikTok Shop, social commerce, or other marketplace platforms
- Strong business judgment and ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing environment
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SQL, Tableau, or other analytics tools is a plus
