Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas, and they are seeking a UX/Product Design Intern for Fall 2026. In this role, you will support the product ownership team in executing the product roadmap, collaborate with designers on various design tasks, and conduct user research to inform product strategies.
Responsibilities
Support the product ownership team in analyzing and executing the product roadmap, including assisting with pricing guides and exception-based decision workflows where applicable
Collaborate with designers to create wireframes, mock-ups, high-fidelity UI designs, prototypes, and competitive analyses using Figma
Contribute to visual design execution, including layout, typography, and color, while ensuring consistency with design systems and brand guidelines
Partner with product managers to proactively identify data and research needs that inform product strategy, prioritization, and design decisions
Support user research activities such as user interviews, usability testing, and survey analysis, and assist in synthesizing insights into actionable product and design recommendations
Analyze qualitative and quantitative findings to validate assumptions and guide iterative design improvements
Maintain user flows, experience maps, and design documentation, supporting clear design-to-development handoff
Work closely with cross‑functional stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, and designers, to ensure alignment throughout the product development lifecycle
Participate in agile ceremonies, design critiques, and workshops to understand requirements, collaborate on solutions, and incorporate feedback
Present design concepts, user insights, and rationale during design and product reviews, clearly articulating trade-offs and impact
Qualification
Required
You are currently enrolled in post-secondary education
You love to learn and envision yourself working for an international organization that heavily invests in your future
You enjoy being involved in extracurricular activities such as conferences, clubs, and competitions
You are comfortable using modern UX/Design tools including Figma, FigJam, and Adobe Creative Suite, with experience across prototyping, design systems, accessibility, and team‑based design workflows
You stay interested in emerging technologies, including AI, and actively explore new tools, trends, and approaches shaping modern design
You have a high level of competency with MS Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
You are able to clearly identify and articulate key insights and recommendations
You can work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams
