Grainger is a broad-line distributor serving customers with maintenance, repair, and operating products and value-added solutions. The Brand, Online Experience and Assortment Intern will gain hands-on experience through a meaningful business project and may support product taxonomy, supplier management, marketing, analytics, customer experience, or sourcing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Each intern will have a meaningful project that contributes to the Grainger business and will provide a formal presentation to leaders and fellow team members at the end of the program
  • Support development of cost models and data-driven insights for private label negotiation discussions, gaining exposure to global sourcing to the organization
  • Learn the work that supports supplier contracts, product cost changes, reporting and analytics, customer-specific solutions, product lifecycle transitions, or product compliance
  • Define and manage internal product taxonomy, attribute schema, product classification and search results to ensure customers can find, select, and confirm product selections
  • Determine product category strategy by selecting products and suppliers, negotiating product cost, and managing the accuracy of product information for items sourced domestically and internationally
  • Marketing provides hands-on experience in data analysis, customer feedback review, and cross-functional collaboration to improve customer experience and support strategic initiatives. This role involves working with managers and stakeholders to drive improvements and deliver impactful insights across the organization

Qualification

Required

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • No visa sponsorships now or in the future
  • Currently enrolled in a college or University, working towards a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, Business Analytics, Marketing, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics, or related majors
  • Intermediate level of expertise in MS Office is required (especially formulas, pivot tables, or data analysis)
  • Proven communication (written / verbal), interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven analytical skills including an ability to synthesize information, reach logical conclusions, evaluate and improve processes
  • Expected graduation between December 2027 – June 2028

Preferred

  • Academic or internship experience working with data sets, analytics, or business intelligence
  • Exposure to tools such as SQL, Python, R, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Coursework or project experience in analytics, statistics, data science, or information systems
