The Walt Disney Company is seeking an intern for their ABC News Product Management and Engineering teams. In this role, the intern will assist in assessing, planning, and testing new workflows, software and system deployments, while developing training materials and troubleshooting issues.
Responsibilities
Assess, plan and test new workflows, software and system deployments
Develop training materials
Troubleshoot issues as they come up
Spend time with editorial, newsgathering, and operations teams to understand their workflows
Meet with engineers to propose and implement timesaving solutions
Work with engineers to put together an equipment list for a new studio or production build
Ensure delivery will meet our needs
Qualification
Required
Familiarity and/or basic understanding of video/television production and television production workflows
Experience with multi-tasking in a constantly evolving and collaborative work environment, effectively balancing and prioritizing multiple projects
Experience with utilizing Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Fully available to work 40 hours per week during a Monday through Friday schedule, 9am – 5pm ET
Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the New York, New York area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
Preferred
Previous experience (academic, extracurricular, or internship/professional) in video or television production
Previous academic or work experience in technology and/or IT processes, troubleshooting and/or problem solving
Familiarity with a wide range of broadcast technologies
Familiarity with system administration, software development lifecycle, technical writing, or media platforms
Major or previous coursework in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Video Production, Engineering, Information Technology (IT), or a related field
Junior or Senior year preferred
