Stellantis is offering an internship within its Product Design Office and AI Design Hub. The AI Design Intern will develop, test, and deploy AI-enabled workflows for design processes, including 3D automation, packaging intelligence, design knowledge management, and rapid prototyping. Interns will deliver two to three measurable AI prototypes and present their results to Design leadership.
Responsibilities
AI workflow development: prototype AI agents, automations, and tools built around real Design pain points
3D and geometry automation: support experimentation with AI-assisted 3D creation, surfacing, morphing, Blender workflows, and geometry translation
Packaging intelligence: help develop AI-assisted packaging tools drawing on engineering standards, vehicle architecture data, competitive benchmarks, and Design requirements
Design knowledge: organize and structure Design data so AI can retrieve historical programs, standards, lessons learned, and best practices
Rapid prototyping: turn ideas from designers and studio engineering into working proof-of-concepts quickly
Testing and validation: work directly with designers to test prototypes, document performance, and identify where AI genuinely improves the workflow
Value measurement: help quantify time saved, process compression, rework reduction, capacity created, and other FastLane 2030 benefits
Qualification
Required
* Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design Technology, or a related field
* Working knowledge of Python or a comparable programming language
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications
* Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the internship
* Willingness to relocate for internship
* Completion of freshman year or higher at an accredited college or university by Spring 2027
* Authorized to work in the United States
* Candidates must submit a current portfolio, saved as a PDF, representing work from freshman year to the present, specifically highlighting software, data, or applied AI projects
Preferred
* Completion of sophomore year or higher at an accredited university by the internship start date
* Experience building with large language models, generative image or video tools, or machine learning frameworks
* Familiarity with scripting inside creative or 3D software such as Alias, Blender, Maya, or Unreal Engine
* Experience working with data: SQL, pandas, APIs, or building simple data pipelines
* Ability to prototype lightweight applications or interfaces to put a model in front of real users
* Comfort working in Microsoft Visual Studio Code, including Git version control and AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot
* Exposure to Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, or similar enterprise collaboration and automation tools
* Strong interest in the automotive industry, design, and new technologies
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical work to designers
* Ability to work in a team environment and exhibit strong leadership characteristics
