The internship aims to prepare college students for entry into the business world by providing a comprehensive understanding of various functions within the organization, particularly in RFID software product management.
Responsibilities
Develop expertise in RFID Technical Concepts and Zebra Fixed Reader Hardware and Software
Research and analyize application development trends to drive development of roadmap for SDKs and tools
Improve Application Developer Engagement. Engage with Zebra developer community (internal and external) through existing Zebra channels (ex. Developer Portal). Recommend product enhancements and/or methods to better support and more consistently engage with developers
Competitive feature development - gather feedback from partners, customers and cross-functional teams to create requirements for new software features that increase the value of Zebra RFID readers
Support the release of new RFID products - use and understand both hardware and software features, engage with internal teams as well as customers and partners (technical audiences) to support migration from legacy readers as well as how to leverage new reader features
Develop planning, organizational and leadership skills
Increase technology knowledge and skills
Develop team-based work proficiencies
Develop interpersonal skills to connect with day-to-day business contacts through follow up activities
Qualification
Required
Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Information Systems, Software/Computer Engineering, Data Science, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science
Must have an anticipated graduation date between 2026-2027
Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred
Technical Proficiency: A solid understanding of software development principles, RFID technology, and relevant programming languages (Python and Java preferred) is crucial.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills are needed to evaluate market trends, user feedback, and product performance metrics.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills are essential for effectively conveying ideas and requirements between cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and sales.
Experience Developing Software for RFID/IoT Devices: Familiarity with the software development process for RFID or IoT applications is highly valuable.
Familiarity with Data Analysis Tools: Knowledge of data analysis tools and software (such as Excel, Tableau, or Python libraries) is beneficial for interpreting product performance metrics and user feedback.
Familiarity with RFID Standards and Protocols: Understanding RFID standards (such as EPCglobal, ISO 18000, and others) and protocols can enhance the intern's ability to contribute to product development.
