The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises and is seeking a Fundraising Intern in their Atlanta office. The intern will assist with data collection, donor outreach, and various resource development tasks to support refugee clients.
Responsibilities
Provide data collection and research including tracking all forms of funding sources;
Draft written materials for internal and external communications and prepare mass mailings;
Assist with updating and maintaining IRC donor database;
Research potential major donor prospects and assist with donor outreach and cultivation;
Provide direct service to refugee clients as needed by the Volunteer Coordinator;
Assist with other Resource Development needs such as donor management, external communications, and fundraising;
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and special staff development programs;
Submit intern hours on volunteer dashboard;
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
An interest in international and refugee issues
Effective communication and writing skills
Strong attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills
Creativity and initiative to follow through on projects
A strong desire to help people and enthusiasm to work in a multi-cultural setting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel
Must submit intern hours on volunteer portal
Must pass a background check
Commitment of 15 hours per week for a minimum of 3 consecutive months
Must be at least 18 years old
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Preferred
Prior experience in a non-profit setting a plus
Prior relevant coursework preferred
