Churchill Downs Incorporated is a historic entertainment venue known for horse racing and gaming. The Social Media Intern will assist the Marketing Department by creating engaging digital content that highlights the excitement of racing and events at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots.
Responsibilities
Capture and create content for various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, and others
Film, photograph, edit, and publish social media posts, reels, videos, and stories
Conduct on-camera and off-camera interviews with guests, team members, jockeys, trainers, entertainers, and other featured personalities
Write engaging and brand-appropriate captions and social media copy
Assist with real-time event coverage during live racing and special events
Monitor social media trends and help develop creative content ideas
Always maintain a professional and positive representation of the Fair Grounds brand
Monitor social media channels and respond professionally and appropriately to comments, messages, and interactions in a timely manner
Work collaboratively with the Marketing team on content calendars and promotional campaigns
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be 21 years or older
Must be able to obtain a Louisiana State Racing License
High school diploma and must have a bachelor's degree or currently pursuing a college degree
Familiarity with Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and short-form video content required
Basic knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar editing tools
Ability to work in a fast-paced entertainment environment while meeting deadlines
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common documentation
Must possess a strong interest in social media, digital marketing, sports, entertainment, or content creation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable interacting with guests, animals, and conducting interviews
Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and live racing/event schedules as needed
Must be able to work in various environments throughout the property, including the slot floor and barn area
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Preferred
Experience with photography, videography, and editing using mobile devices and/or editing software
