TMX Group is a leading global exchange organization that enhances capital markets. They are seeking an ambitious Systems Business Analyst Intern to support core infrastructure operations, acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, focusing on data accessibility and reporting.
Assist the business in defining report requirements and writing SQL-based queries to extract data
Support the ongoing maintenance of data dictionaries
Assist in documenting field attributes, relationships, and data structures to ensure clear communication between the business and developers
Work under the guidance of senior team members to ensure data security standards are maintained, including the removal or masking of sensitive fields (e.g., SIN/TIN) in reporting environments
Serve as the first point of contact for business users experiencing issues with reporting tools
Help troubleshoot integration challenges and assist with user onboarding
Create and update documentation that explains how business applications interact with backend systems
Assist in mapping requirements from business units to technical specifications
Participate in BA Squad meetings, assist in documenting ServiceNow tasks, and help manage the lifecycle of requests from business initiation to production support
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a degree in Business Technology Management, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field
Strong interest in data structures, database management, and query languages. Prior experience or academic coursework in SQL is highly preferred
Ability to understand complex data requirements and translate them into simple, readable outputs
Google Sheets / Excel skills (familiarity with data imports, pivots, and add-ins is a plus)
Demonstrated ability to act as a translator between non-technical business users and technical development teams
A disciplined approach to documentation and adherence to data privacy and security standards
Preferred
Knowledge of IT service management tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence)
