AngioDynamics is dedicated to improving patient outcomes by focusing on the development of disruptive and differentiated technologies. The intern will provide practical experience while contributing to projects aimed at developing AI models for pattern recognition using clinical data to optimize patient selection.

- Gain foundational knowledge in AI, machine learning, neural networks, and Python programming applied to clinical datasets
- Perform data preprocessing, feature selection, and exploratory analysis of clinical variables
- Develop and validate a preliminary AI-based patient selection model
- Develop foundational work toward future clinical decision-support tools
- Work on projects that will help develop analytical, audit, research, testing and validation skills
- Attend and participate in department meetings
- Develop and maintain documentation and reporting forms
- Use Excel, Word, Project Management, or Visio to create correspondence, spreadsheets, forms, graphs, flowcharts, etc
- Ensure compliance with all relevant quality and regulatory/legal requirements
- May perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
- Enrolled in a 4 year college level degree in a related field of study (Biomedical Engineer, Computer Science, Electrical Engineer, etc.)
- Time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Proficient in the following computer software applications: Microsoft Office
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Work safely and follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures
- Ability to regularly sit or stand for extended periods of time
Preferred
- Practical experience in AI, Machine Learning, Python programming, neural networks, and biomedical data science
- Exposure to biomedical engineering concepts
