Bio-Techne is a supplier of tools for life science research, therapeutic manufacturing, and clinical diagnostics. The intern will contribute to the development of long-read sequencing data analysis, focusing on variant identification and reporting, while gaining practical experience in bioinformatics.

Responsibilities

Modify and execute existing pipelines for long-read sequencing data analysis.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to pipeline execution and performance.
Work closely with the software team to integrate and improve existing pipelines.
Document pipeline workflows, analysis results, and best practices.
Present findings and progress updates to the team.
Contribute to the creation of user documentation.

Qualification

Required

Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a graduate-level degree in a field relevant to the internship.
Must be able to work full-time during the duration of the internship program.
Proficiency in Python.
Proficiency in Nextflow workflow development and execution.
Strong command-line skills and experience with Linux/Unix environments.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Preferred

Experience with long-read sequencing data analysis (Oxford Nanopore Technologies).
Understanding of genomics and bioinformatics principles.
Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
