Responsibilities

Be an active team member conducting research to investigate the use of knowledge graphs and AI agents for AEC workflows
Conduct literature reviews
Engage with team members and stakeholders to identify challenges and valuable research opportunities for domain specific ai agents
Develop new algorithms and build prototypes to test and explore concepts
Explore new prototyping frameworks and technologies
Communicate ideas, challenges, solutions, and results effectively within a multidisciplinary team of researchers, software engineers, user experience designers, and industry experts
Participate in iterative design, testing and development sprints to refine research
Present research findings to the team and create reports and / or publish academic paper documenting the results

Qualification

Required

Currently pursuing a Masters or PhD degree in Construction, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, AI/ML or related fields
Strong Computer Science fundamentals, with a proficiency in either Python, C#, Javascript
Experience with Large Language Models, Knowledge Graphs, and Agentic Frameworks
Solid understanding of Construction and AECO workflows. Basic knowledge of Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud or other construction management platforms
Creative, flexible and enjoy working with new technology in a research setting
Strong communications skills and teamwork experience

Preferred

Prior experience building AI agents, knowledge graphs, and MCPs
Prior industry experience in an AECO organization
Very strong technical skills in building rapid software prototypes
Experience with modern generative AI tools and frameworks (eg. GPT, Claude, etc.)
Experience with web development frameworks (eg. Three.js, react)
Experience with programming 3D graphics frameworks and APIs
Computational or generative design experience
