Mapfre is a global insurance company and the largest auto and home insurer in Massachusetts. The Advanced Analytics Intern will support AI and data science initiatives by exploring data, developing and evaluating predictive models, and communicating insights to business stakeholders. The role also provides exposure to the full analytics lifecycle, including model development, deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization.
Partner with business and analytics teams to understand challenges and identify data-driven solutions
Build and analyze datasets using SQL, Spark, and Python to uncover trends, patterns, and business opportunities
Develop, train, and evaluate machine learning models that support strategic decision-making
Participate in the end-to-end AI lifecycle, including data preparation, model validation, deployment readiness, monitoring, and ongoing performance evaluation
Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences
Measure the effectiveness and business impact of analytical solutions, including validating statistical results
Present analytical findings and recommendations to analytics leaders and business stakeholders through presentations, dashboards and visualizations
Enhance and maintain existing analytics tools, models, and code using Python and SQL
Support the integration of Responsible AI principles, including fairness, explainability, accountability, and data privacy
Qualification
Required
Working knowledge of **Python and statistical analysis**
Passion for data, analytics, machine learning, and solving real-world business problems
Preferred
Graduate student (final year preferred) pursuing a degree in **Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science**, or a related quantitative discipline
