Delta Air Lines is seeking an operations research intern to help build or enhance state-of-the-art decision support tools. The intern will perform data analysis, provide quantitative expertise, and design optimization products while ensuring a safety-conscious environment.

Responsibilities

Performing data analysis and preparing data for models and algorithms
Provide quantitative expertise in the form of models, consulting, and software development
Design, develop, implement, and calibrate optimization products
Formally report results in a concise and understandable way
Practice safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being

Qualification

Required

Minimum of three years of Ph.D. coursework completed
Completed Undergraduate BA/BS in Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Proven success in solving complex quantitative problems
Robust knowledge of optimization techniques
Solid programming skills (Python, C++, etc.)
Experience with commercial optimization solvers (Gurobi, Cplex, Xpress, etc.)
Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
