Zurich Canada is a leading insurance provider looking for a post-secondary student for an Internship/Co-op position within the Data, Analytics & AI team. The role involves supporting business initiatives through data analysis, reporting, and exploring AI applications to enhance decision-making and customer outcomes.
Support data analytics and AI initiatives by gathering requirements, preparing data, performing analysis, and helping translate findings into clear business insights
Assist with the development and enhancement of dashboards, reports, and performance tracking tools using platforms such as Power BI, and other analytics tools
Work with team members to identify opportunities to improve workflows, automate manual processes, and apply AI-enabled solutions in a responsible and practical way
Help document processes, prepare presentation materials, summarize insights, and communicate progress to business stakeholders
Collaborate with colleagues across business areas to understand data needs, support project delivery, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
Qualification
Required
Interest in data, analytics, artificial intelligence, automation, and how these capabilities can be applied to solve business problems
Comfortable working with data, identifying patterns, asking thoughtful questions, and turning information into clear insights
Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar tools is considered an asset
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and business-friendly way
Preferred
Previous coursework, project experience, or work experience involving data analysis, dashboard development, business intelligence, AI, machine learning, automation, or process improvement
Experience participating in school, volunteer, or work projects where data was used to support a recommendation, improve a process, or tell a clear business story
Exposure to responsible AI concepts, data privacy, data quality, or ethical use of data and AI
Experience with data visualization, storytelling, or presenting insights to non-technical audiences through class projects, case competitions, internships, or extracurricular activities
Curiosity about the insurance industry and an interest in learning how analytics and AI can support underwriting, claims, customer experience, and operational efficiency
Experience working in a team-based project environment, including gathering input, organizing work, meeting deadlines, and incorporating feedback
