Charles River Laboratories has been assisting in the discovery and development of new drug therapies for 75 years. They are seeking a motivated Data Science Intern to support R&D projects by building data processing pipelines and analyzing scientific datasets.

- Assist in designing and managing data processing pipelines across R&D projects
- Apply quantitative, optimization, statistical and machine learning/artificial intelligence tools to support projects
- Organize, curate, and analyze data from different formats and fields
- Assist with managing the content and structure of databases
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of results through strong documentation and record-keeping practices
- Work collaboratively with scientists and manufacturing teams to understand project needs and deliver high‑quality data insights
- Follow all data integrity guidelines, safety procedures, and laboratory compliance requirements
- Perform additional tasks and project support as assigned
Qualification
Required
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a bachelor's or a master's degree in the field of Computer Science, Data Science or Bioinformatics
- Minimum completion of sophomore year with a GPA of 3.0 or above
- Familiarity with Python coding is required
- Ability to work on multiple projects, strong attention to detail, and effective communication and listening skills in a teamwork environment
- Availability to complete a minimum 10‑week internship between May and August
Preferred
- Exposure to scientific or research environments is preferred (undergraduate research experience is a plus)
