Work with colleagues in the JNJ Innovative Medicine R&D Data Science & Digital Health organization
Partner with key businesses across JNJ Innovative Medicine to apply advanced data science and analytics to answer key research questions
Work on cutting-edge problems at the intersection of machine learning and healthcare
Be a member of a dynamic team comprising data scientists and subject matter experts to create and iterate on data science solutions
Development of applied natural language processing (NLP) tools
Leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) for clinical information extraction
Clinical code mapping from unstructured documents
Time-series predictive modeling for enrollment forecasting using advanced machine learning techniques
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Computer, or Biomedical Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
Strong working knowledge of conventional machine learning techniques and advanced NLP tools, including Large Language Models (LLMs).
Experience conducting systematic experimentation and comparative analysis in machine learning, including ablation experiments.
Strong coding abilities with proficiency in Python and SQL.
Strong technical communication and presentation skills.
Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
Preferred
Experience in applied machine learning in healthcare.
Prior work conducting systematic experimentation and comparative analysis between language models including LLMs for medical entity recognition and clinical code classification.
