Interns will engage in significant projects within the fields of data science and analytics, contributing to strategic decision-making and gaining hands-on experience in the media industry.
Champion the intelligent use of data to inform strategic decision making
Focus on the intelligent use of data to perform analysis and provide actionable insights
Assist with research & development to inform new methodologies
Implement predictive and inferential statistical and/or machine learning models
Contribute to the development of tools and data pipelines
Develop interactive visualizations that communicate complex ideas
Analyzing viewership of NBCU and competitive networks and platforms across all screens
Support internal digital and cross platform reporting tools
Qualification
Required
Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2025 through April 2026). December 2025 graduates are not eligible for our 2025-2026 Academic Year Internship Program.
Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 15, 2025 – April 17, 2026.
Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.
Preferred
Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
Knowledge of Tableau or equivalent data visualization tools.
Working knowledge of at least two of the following programming languages: R, Python, Julia, Java, Scala or similar.
Prior experience with Machine Learning and/or statistical modelling.
Working knowledge of statistics and its applications for inferential data analysis.
Familiarity with Spark, Databricks and/or AWS.
Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
Experience with data visualization techniques and reporting tools like Tableau.
Exposure to traditional TV and digital measurement (e.g. Nielsen, Comscore, Adobe), as well as marketing effectiveness/attribution measurement (e.g. VideoAmp, 605, Data+Math, etc.) a plus.
