Intern
IES Holdings, through its Wisconsin Heavy Fabrication and IES Infrastructure Solutions operations, provides industrial products and infrastructure services across multiple end markets. The Data Analytics Intern will collect, analyze, validate, and present manufacturing and business data, develop reports and dashboards, identify trends, and support operational and financial decision-making. The role collaborates with Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality teams on data improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, organize, validate, and analyze data from manufacturing and business systems
  • Assist in developing and maintaining reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Use tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI to transform raw data into clear, actionable information
  • Analyze manufacturing performance, including areas such as: + Production output and schedule attainment + Labor efficiency and productivity + Material usage and variances + Scrap, rework, and quality trends + Inventory levels and accuracy + Purchasing and budget adherence + Manufacturing costs and variances
  • Identify trends, inconsistencies, and potential opportunities for operational improvement
  • Assist with automating recurring reports and reducing manual data entry or manipulation
  • Support data validation and cleanup efforts to improve the accuracy and reliability of business information
  • Work with department leaders and subject matter experts to understand business processes and reporting needs
  • Assist in documenting reporting processes, data sources, calculations, and standard procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects involving operational or financial data
  • Present findings and recommendations in a clear, understandable format to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Perform other analytical and project-based assignments as needed
