Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for their Data Analyst Intern position. The role involves supporting data analysis services within SEL's Manufacturing division, including reviewing data, creating reports and dashboards, and improving data processes.
Reviewing data and creating charts, dashboards, and reports as assigned
Reviewing data for errors, cleaning inconsistencies, and assisting in improving processes that prevent data issues at the source
Supporting analysts to improve current reports and data sources
Retrieve and organize project and workflow data using various APIs
Build queries and processes that automate data extraction and data refresh
Create Power BI dashboards that visualize team performance, workloads, and operational metrics
Qualification
Required
Are a current student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a relative field of study
Are proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access
Have knowledge of Phython, R, SQL, or other analytic languages
Have knowledge of reporting software, such as Web Intelligence or Power BI
Have strong analytical, judgment, organizational, and project management skills
Have strong attention to detail
Have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Are able to learn and communicate technical/scientific information
Are able to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team environment
Are able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Have background check results satisfactory to SEL and negative drug test result(s)
Preferred
Experience with Python, SQL or other analytic languages
Experience with reporting software, such as Power BI
