They are inviting students enrolled in IT or related programs to participate in a twelve-week paid internship in their Information Systems Division, focusing on data science and big data tools.

Responsibilities

Works with stakeholders to identify solutions that support their business requirements
Works independently and within a team environment
Pays attention to detail, self motivated with the ability to follow instructions and completes assignments on time
Learns and applies new concepts, processes, and tools
Takes initiative to solve problems and multi-tasks by prioritizing projects and deadlines
Communicates effectively with team members, stakeholders, and all levels of management
Designs and builds ML/DL models to solve business problems
Preliminary skills in SQL, PySpark, Python, Machine Learning / Deep Learning
Expertise with at least one data visualization tool, preference: PowerBI
Communicates effectively with team members, stakeholders and all levels of management
Tells stories through modern visualization techniques and presents to stakeholders
Performs advanced data analysis to support any area of Costco’s business
Builds and trains data models to solve business questions and aid decision making
Conducts A/B testings for DS Models and provides options to business
Conducts back testing to know the plan vs actual results to improve the DS Model accuracy

Qualification

Required

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possess good organizational, time, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, and stay well organized
Must be maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Must be students currently enrolled in an IT undergraduate or graduate program at a community college, college or university or a recent graduate
Strong knowledge of Data Science and big data tools for data extraction, transformation, modeling, visualization and storytelling
Preliminary skills in SQL, PySpark, Python, Machine Learning / Deep Learning
Expertise with at least one data visualization tool, preference: PowerBI
Communicates effectively with team members, stakeholders and all levels of management
Tells stories through modern visualization techniques and presents to stakeholders

Preferred

Costco warehouse, Ecommerce or retail experience is a plus
Proficient in Google Workspace applications, including Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Gmail
