BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world, and they are seeking a Business Data Analytics Intern to support strategic commercial initiatives for Waters and BD. This role focuses on building a unified framework and analytical model to identify, evaluate, and select business partners that accelerate growth and enable cross-selling opportunities in emerging markets.
Design, develop, and implement a data-driven framework to identify, evaluate, and select business partners in support of a unified channel coverage model across Waters and BD
Partner closely with sales, marketing, commercial excellence, and product management teams across both organizations to align on data requirements, validate assumptions, and ensure the model meets operational and commercial needs
Gather, integrate, and analyze diverse data sources, including sales history, installed base data, product portfolio, market coverage, and organizational structures
Develop dashboards and visualizations that clearly synthesize insights and effectively communicate recommendations to stakeholders
Prepare and deliver weekly progress updates highlighting key accomplishments, risks, and next steps
Document analytical assumptions, data sources, and model logic to ensure transparency, scalability, and continuity beyond the duration of the internship
Qualification
Required
Current Bachelor's degree student
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with hands-on experience working with real-world business data, including data extraction, cleansing, validation, and preparation for analysis and basic modeling
Proficiency with analytical tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, or comparable platforms
Demonstrated ability to translate complex datasets into clear, actionable business insights
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage cross-functional stakeholders
Interest in life sciences, diagnostics, analytical instrumentation, or healthcare markets
Self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
Preferred
Current MBA or Master's degree student with a concentration in Business Analytics, Data Science, Marketing Analytics, or a related field
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and/or machine learning techniques
