The Bioinformatics AI/ML Intern will support the development of ML/AI algorithms for Multi-Cancer Early Detection screening tests, working with multi-modal datasets and training cutting-edge models to improve cancer detection methods.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement ML/AI algorithms.
Work with large multi-modal datasets, including NGS and PCR-based assays and biochemical assays, to generate novel features for model training.
Train, validate, and optimize ML models to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of cancer detection.
Analyze and interpret data to provide actionable insights and improvements to existing models.
Document research findings and present results to the team.
Apply strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members across various departments.
Exercise excellent problem-solving skills to address complex challenges in cancer detection methods.
Incorporate advanced analytical and critical thinking skills to refine and validate models.
Display a proactive learning mindset to stay updated with the latest advancements in ML/AI and bioinformatics.

Qualification

Required

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in computer science, bioinformatics, computational biology or related field.
Ability to implement algorithms in common programming languages such as Python or R.
Ability to query and reshape large datasets.
Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
