Oxy is an international energy company focused on oil and gas production and innovative technologies for a lower-carbon world. They are seeking an AI Language Modeling Intern for their Summer Intern Program, where interns will work on real-life projects in the accounting departments while receiving mentorship and training.
Experience real-life projects with hands-on participation in Oxy’s core businesses.
Be paired with a manager and mentor to provide technical guidance throughout the internship.
Attend training and development courses, lunch and learns, field trips, and social activities.
Meet with Oxy executives and leadership throughout the internship.
Qualification
Required
Good foundation in large language models (LLMs) and natural language processing (NLP), with practical experience applying these concepts in projects or research.
Strong proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience using Git and version control systems.
Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering or a related field.
Must have a graduation date of December 2026 – May 2028
Must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Desire to pursue a career as an AI Language Modeling Engineer in the Oil and Gas Industry

Preferred
Projects or research in NLP or LLMs that can be demonstrated through GitHub repositories, coursework, or a portfolio.
Exposure to modern NLP/LLM frameworks and libraries such as LangChain, LangGraph, Hugging Face Transformers, and vector databases for applied AI development.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS (EC2, S3, SageMaker, etc.) through coursework, research, or projects.
Strong communication skills for collaborating with teams and presenting technical results.
