The company is seeking winter co-op Business and Data Analysts to support change initiatives, process improvements, data-driven solutions, compliance activities, and business user needs across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

  • Work within a dynamic environment where you are encouraged to aid in process improvement and work with autonomy
  • Develop and Review processes and procedures
  • Support and assist with new and renewal licensing applications
  • Create and maintain all client and licensing records in applicable systems
  • Collaborate and support the Channel Design and Initiative Delivery team on projects impacting the group distribution channel
  • Review and clean up data within salesforce platform to improve platform efficiency
  • Performing data classification review and updates for Insurance's applications/systems
  • Gain hands-on exposure to the processes involved in transitioning products from development to production, including release planning, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and post-production validation
  • Design and implement data-driven solutions to support the CIO office's strategic initiatives
  • Ensuring alignment with the Enterprise data classification as outlined in the Enterprise Data Security Standards
  • You will actively participate in the development and/or monitoring of controls to support compliance requirements and risks identified
  • Developing product or service knowledge and competence in tools and business processes used in the department
  • Participate in collecting, reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business user needs
  • Documenting processes or upgrading existing procedure manuals
  • Developing product or service knowledge and competence in tools and business processes used in the department
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including IT, operations, and product development, to ensure timely resolution of issues and continuous improvement of applications

Qualification

Required

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science
  • Knowledge in Building, Documenting and Assessing Processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint & Excel)
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Strong Teamwork and Collaboration Skills
  • Analytical Thinking and strong data literacy
  • Ability to think critically and “outside the box”
  • To be eligible for these student positions, you must either:
  • Be returning to school after the work term end-date; or
  • If you are not returning to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component to graduate successfully

Preferred

  • Experience with End User Reporting Tools (ex. Tableau) and with CRM Tools (ex. Salesforce)
  • Experience using issue-tracking and ticketing tools such as Jira and ServiceNow
  • Actuarial Knowledge and Insurance industry knowledge
  • Knowledge of factors affecting Claims and Insurance Policies
  • Experience with regulatory data standards
  • Familiar with investment asset management tools, such as Bloomberg
  • Familiar with SQL and Power BI
