They are seeking an R&D Data Science Co-Op to collaborate with Chemists and Scientists in integrating data science into R&D processes, contributing to the design of better-performing paints. This role offers a 6-9 month learning experience involving technical projects that utilize data science and analytics skills.

Responsibilities

The individual will be working with Chemists and Scientists to integrate data science into R&D to help design better paints
The individual will be given a Technical Project requiring the use of data science skills
A summary of this project will be present at the end of their internship
Students will have periodic reviews to evaluate their performance
Students will participate in a number of special networking and learning events throughout their assignment
This opportunity will allow students to gain experience in work groups, as well as working with other Interns and Co-ops

Qualification

Required

Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program or higher in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (“STEM”) at the time of the internship program
Experience in Python, SQL, Data Visualization Tools (Tableau)
Familiarity with Machine Learning Techniques
Understanding of statistical modeling, data wrangling, data cleaning and data transformation
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
Must be willing to work up to 40 hours per week for a total 6-9 months, from May-December, with or without reasonable accommodation
Minimum of 2.8 GPA
Must have completed a minimum of two years of college

Preferred

Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in data science
Previously completed an internship or co-op program
Pursuing a bachelor's in data science or master's degree in data science
