The Corporate Land GIS intern will support the creation of master data and information layers for the land function, gaining exposure to various GIS applications and tools while participating in site-wide internship activities.
Responsibilities
Completing project or projects targeted to experience level, working with mentor and other Corp Land staff
Interpreting and analyzing Jeffersonian and Survey Abstract legal descriptions
Building/maintaining master land record spatial data using Quorum QGIS/ArcMap
Using FME Data modeling and/or scripting to transform master data sets into informational business layers
Learning/supporting how we use web mapping technology as an information delivery tool for end users
Researching spatial/nonspatial data issues and resolving inquiries for mapping and information requests
Qualification
Required
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer and/or education institution
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Management Information Systems, other related field, or foreign equivalent
Current level in college: Freshman through Senior
Expected graduation date: Fall 2027 through Spring/Fall 2030
Available for internship starting mid-late May 2027
A minimum of ten (10) continuous weeks availability for internship
Preferred
A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Petroleum Land GIS Mapping experience
Experience with ArcGIS or ESRI based products and land mapping tools
Experience with any of the following Land Systems and Software: Quorum, Spotfire, FME, or Geocoretex
Working knowledge of Oil & Gas leases and Exploration & Production agreements along with their associated provisions
