The Mosaic Company is the world’s leading integrated producer of concentrated phosphate and potash. They are seeking a Tax Accounting Co-Op/Intern who will assist the tax department with various responsibilities, including preparation of tax returns and compliance reporting.
Responsibilities
Assist in preparation of federal, state, and international income tax returns and supporting workpapers
Assist with quarterly tax provision calculations (ASC 740), including book-to-tax differences
Prepare and analyze tax data to support compliance and financial reporting
Support responses to tax notices and audit information requests
Prepare and analyze tax data to support compliance and financial reporting
Utilize digital tools to improve data accuracy, consistency, and reporting efficiency
Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors
Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment
Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies
Qualification
Required
Junior level or above by May 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or IT
2.75 GPA or higher
Foundational knowledge of taxation and accounting principles
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office
Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination
Basic computer skills are required
Experience working in a team environment is a must
Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of others
Able to lift approximately 0-25 lbs. occasionally
Able to climb stairs and work at various heights
Able to distinguish varying or specific colors, patterns or materials
Able to hear, with or without correction
Able to read, write and understand basic English

Able to use fine hand motor skills
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Preferred
Experience or familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Power BI, and reporting tools preferred
1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred
Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred
Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
