Fifth Third Bank is a leading financial institution seeking college students for their Asset Backed Finance Summer Internship Program. This 11-week program offers hands-on experience in banking operations, where interns will participate in analytical support functions and develop skills essential for future roles in commercial banking.
Responsibilities
Performs a wide range of complex analytical support functions
Apply analytical skills to provide high quality work product to support calling efforts of Asset Backed Finance deal team members in the originations process
Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined
Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience
While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types
Ability to find, research and assess financial information
Strong financial analysis skills, specifically credit based and corporate finance expertise
Broad understanding of public debt markets and willingness to expand knowledge base and develop expertise in markets
Develop familiarity with broad economic and market trends
Assist with database maintenance and underwriting of lending opportunities
Preparation of pitch materials and market updates for client meetings
Participate in accounting, business and legal due diligence calls for asset backed securities offerings and lending opportunities
Willingness to work long hours during busy periods
Work with ABF group, in addition to other corporate banking groups on deal team presentations
Build a network of colleagues within firm and externally to strengthen career
Qualification
Required
Pursuing Bachelor's degree with strong financial or business background
Graduation date between December 2027 - May 2028 ONLY
Minimum 3.3 GPA required
Excellent presentation skills, both oral and written
Strong analytical skills and an interest in financial analysis, corporate finance and financial markets
Good working knowledge of financial modeling and valuation
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to draw conclusions based on financial data
Strong presentation and organization skills
