Strattec Security Corporation is a leading manufacturer in the automotive industry, known for its innovative security and power access products. They are seeking a motivated Summer Intern to join their procurement team, providing hands-on experience in supplier research, data analysis, and vendor management.
Responsibilities
Assist in identifying potential vendors, conducting market research, and performing supplier risk assessments
Help prepare and distribute Request for Proposals (RFP), Request for Quotations (RFQ), and Request for Information (RFI) documents
Analyze spend data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintain procurement dashboards to identify cost-saving opportunities
Process purchase orders (POs), track deliveries, resolve shipping discrepancies, and update inventory records
Maintain contract files, track expiration dates for renewals, and assist with compliance documentation
Coordinate with suppliers to resolve invoice issues and maintain updated vendor databases (e.g., in SAP or Oracle)
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Logistics, or related field
Basic understanding of procurement, supply chain, or business operations (coursework counts)
Strong analytical skills — able to work with data, compare vendors, evaluate costs
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables are a plus)
Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Attention to detail and accuracy when handling purchase orders or contracts
Organizational skills — ability to manage multiple requests at once
Basic knowledge of: Purchasing processes
Basic knowledge of: Vendor evaluation
Basic knowledge of: Contract terminology
Basic knowledge of: Inventory management
Preferred
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, etc.) is a plus but not required
