Brunswick Corporation is a global marine company seeking an Accounting Intern for its Mercury Marine Central Accounting team. The intern will gain hands-on experience with month-end close activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, fixed asset and intercompany accounting, and process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Assist with monthly fixed asset accounting activities, including asset additions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation calculations
Support physical asset verification projects and fixed asset audits
Support intercompany accounting processes, including recording and reconciling intercompany transactions
Assist with monthly & quarterly close activities
Prepare account reconciliations and supporting journal entries
Analyze financial data and identify opportunities for process improvements
Assist with special projects, reporting requests, and ad hoc analyses as assigned
Maintain compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and U.S. GAAP requirements

* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* Minimum second semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits
* Availability to work full-time (40 or more hours per week) during the the months May through August of 2027
* Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
* Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or equivalent academic standing
Preferred
* Junior or senior standing in an Accounting or Finance program
* Prior internship, co-op, or accounting-related work experience
* Understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control concepts
* Continuous improvement mindset and interest in process automation
