Mercer, a business of Marsh McLennan, is seeking a talented individual to join their Pharmacy practice as a Financial Intern based in Chicago, IL. The internship will focus on supporting financial projects related to pharmacy benefit management, requiring collaboration with team members and analysis of financial data to provide recommendations for optimizing clients' pharmacy benefit programs.

Responsibilities

Collection and analysis of pharmacy claims and utilization data
Assist in the Request For Proposal (RFP) process on behalf of a clients
Utilize Mercer’s proprietary financial tools to evaluate financial impact of PBM proposals
Model pharmacy financial projections to meet employer objectives
Coordinate with team members on projects, ask questions and seek guidance to ensure that all work is completed accurately and within the agreed-upon timeline
Help prepare and write client communications, including reports, spreadsheets and presentations

Qualification

Required

Progress toward a bachelor's degree and concentration(s) in actuarial science, math, statistics, economics, engineering and/or other related field is highly preferred
Status as a currently enrolled student; candidates should have an expected graduation date in the Fall of 2026 or Spring 2027
Strong academic achievement demonstrated through rigorous course work, and the ability to successfully balance extra-curricular activities
Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future is required

Preferred

Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office— specifically Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of data analysis, project management, and presentation design
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Intellectual curiosity; seeking opportunities to develop new skills and apply critical thinking to solve problems
Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and communicate with others in a skillful and engaging manner
Flexibility to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing client needs
Superior organizational skills and strong attention to detail
