LPL Financial is a financial services company providing technology, brokerage, and investment advisor services. The Internal Audit intern will support the IA Business Analytics team through financial, operational, and process assessments, control testing, audit testing, project assignments, training, and interactions with company leaders.
Responsibilities
Assist in the completion of financial, operational, and process design assessments and control testing
Participate in process walkthroughs and perform audit testing in accordance with department and professional standards
Obtain exposure to systems, databases, and other applications used by the Company on a daily basis
Practice project management through handling various assignments and projects
Expand knowledge through training and other online courses
Interact with other company leaders to develop an understanding of career options and opportunities at LPL Financial
Qualification
Required
• Current sophomore or junior
• 3.0 GPA minimum
• Offer is contingent upon completion of bachelor's degree, successful background screening, and agreement to be local to the Fort Mill/Charlotte office
Preferred
• All majors are considered, but programs focusing in finance or accounting are preferred
• GPA of 3.3 or higher
• Basic financial and accounting knowledge (understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, etc.)
• Leadership experience through student organizations, internships, or projects
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office 365 platforms
• Effective communication, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills
• Passionate, driven, open to new opportunities, and proactive
