National Grid is a company that delivers safe and secure energy to homes and businesses. They are seeking a Corporate Tax Year-Round Part-Time Intern to support the US Income Tax Operations team, assisting with tax accounting, compliance, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Support with monthly provision work and reconciliations
Assist with preparation of journal entries
Populate tax provision and tax compliance software
Update tax accounting files on monthly basis
Maintaining tax calendar and keeping track of external and internal due dates
Aid in responding to federal and state income tax notices
Collaborate on the preparation of federal and state income tax returns
Research and ensure preparation of supporting information for federal and state income tax audit requests
Calculating and processing federal and state income tax payments
Other tax administrative tasks to assist the tax team
Qualification
Required
Registered in school as a full-time student and continuing education full-time until the Spring 2026 Semester
Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting and/or Taxation
Accumulated 18 or more credits and be at least 18 years of age
Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States
Located within a commutable distance to the identified work location of Brooklyn, NY
Preferred
Prior Accounting/ Taxing experience is preferred but not required
Proven background on Microsoft Excel including but not limited to (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUM,IF Functions, etc.)

You must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
You must also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
